Vet-Trade: challenges inspire
Vet-Trade Polska was set up on March 16, 2004 and was registered at the National Judicial Register of Enterprises (KRS) as Polish commercial law company: Vet-Trade Polska Sp. z o.o. (Limited liability company). However, the origins of the Company can be traced back to the early 80’s when Rhône Poulenc (formerly named Rhône Mérieux) a French pharmaceutical company emerged on Polish veterinary market.
Subsequent transformations of the French mother-company (resulting from the merger of Rhone Poulenc with Hoesht into Aventis and followed by the fusion of Aventis with Merck Sharp & Dohme into Merial) also resulted in the growth of its market share in the field of veterinary medicinal products in Poland. This, in turn, led in 2000 to the emergence of Przedstawicielstwo Merial S.A. w Polsce - Merial joint-stock company in Poland - from Merial S.A.S. structures.
The way from Rhône Poulenc’s Agency in Poland to Vet-Trade company was marked out by some extremely important events such as Poland’s Accession into the European Union and the resulting political and economic changes.
The Managing Board of Merial S.A. did not hesitate to entrust the future of the company’s products on Polish market to former Merial’s own employees – now the representing the core of Vet-Trade (VT).
Hence, the newly-founded Company became both the heir and the continuator of Merial’s Agency and, by gaining independence, it was able to expand its activity in order to serve its Customers better and better.
Constant development and re-investments carried out by Vet-Trade from the beginning of its activity are aimed at reaching by the Company of the position of the Supplier favoured by the Customers on Polish veterinary market. Thanks to its close collaboration with Merial in France, Great Britain, Italy and in the U.S. - Vet-Trade guarantees strong technical support to its Customers. Our Customer Service activity is increasingly demanded which, in turn, makes Vet-Trade develop its human resources as well as logistic, research and training basis in order to be closer and closer to its Customers.
Constant changes and the awareness of the necessity to permanently follow them account for the continued membership of Vet-Trade in the Polish Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Veterinary Medicinal Products. This membership not only strengthens the Company’s position on the market of veterinary pharmaceutical companies but also facilitates its relationships with leading foreign companies.
Consequently, more and more firms collaborating with Merial all over the world, such as Biokema (Switzerland), Coophavet (France) or Vet-Plus (Great Britain), enrich Vet-Trade’s offer with their own products.
Today, VT offers to its Customers the following product categories:
• Veterinary medicinal products (chemical and biological),
• biocides,
• animal identification system
• medical equipment.
Large range of the Company’s products are presented on the market by veterinarians only; they are Vet-Trade’s employees and operate all over Poland in three well-oiled departments: Poultry, Pet and Cattle & Pig Department.
